Frequently asked questions

Getting started

How do I start using Officebot after installing it?

Open Officebot from the Apps section of your Slack sidebar. Its Home tab has everything in one place: your calendar for the next two weeks, who's out today, one-tap shortcuts like WFH today, and your settings. No commands to learn.

How do I tell my team about Officebot?

Click 👋 Introduce me at the bottom of the Home tab and pick who to introduce Officebot to.

Do I need to learn any commands?

No. The Home tab covers the everyday actions, and you can message Officebot in your own words, for example “PTO next Friday, dentist appointment” or “who's out next week?”. Several requests in one message work too. See what the AI assistant can do.

Where do admins manage settings?

Click Open Officebot dashboard on the Home tab. It signs you straight in to the web console, where admins manage users, locations and teams, leave types, holidays, channel notifications and the subscription. You can also sign in with Slack here.

Using Officebot

How do I book, change or cancel leave?

Tap a shortcut on the Home tab, or click Other leave request for any type and date range. Each upcoming entry under Your calendar has a ⋯ menu with Edit and Delete. You can also just tell Officebot, for example “cancel my PTO tomorrow”.

Can I change my shortcuts?

Yes. Click Manage shortcuts on the Home tab to add or remove them (up to 5), such as PTO tomorrow or Sick today.

How do I connect Google Calendar?

Go to Home tab → Settings → Google Calendar sync and click Enable sync. On Google's permission screen, tick both calendar checkboxes, then pick the calendar to sync. Officebot also offers to add Out of office you set in Google Calendar as leave; you can turn that off in the same section. If sync stops working, click Reconnect there.

How do I turn automatic Slack status updates on or off?

Go to Home tab → Settings → Slack status auto-update and click Enable or Disable. Enabling asks you to authorize Officebot to update your status.

Why don't I see someone's leave in a channel feed?

A person's leave is posted to a notification channel only if they are a member of that Slack channel and they match the channel's Location/Team filter (set by an admin on the Notifications page). Check both the channel membership and their Location/Team on the Manage Users page.

Billing & account

How do I change or cancel my plan?

Admins can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from the Subscription page of the web console. Changes are pro-rated, and after cancelling, service stays active until the end of the current billing period. See pricing for plan details.

How do I uninstall Officebot?

A Slack workspace admin can remove Officebot from the workspace's app management page (in Slack: Tools & settings → Manage apps, open Officebot, then Remove App). Cancel any paid subscription from the web console first so you aren't billed again.

How do I request deletion of my data?

Email hello@appstacksolutions.com from an address tied to your Slack workspace. We verify the request and complete deletion within 7 calendar days. Details are in our privacy policy.
